A middle-class girl studied hard, got good grades, went to university, fell in love, became a princess. A fairy tale?An aspirational dream? A snob’s nightmare? Kate Middleton’s story is all these.
She is not a member of nobility or the aristocracy, which makes her an unusual bride for the man who will likely be king one day.
But today is her BIG day! It’s the British Royal Wedding of Prince William of Wales and ordinary Catherine Elizabeth Middleton.
What did Prince William see in her?How they fell in love? They started as friends back in college. I guess it’s how would other husbands and wives got together. They built the foundation of friendship. Along the way, you didn’t just see the good but you can also embrace the tantrums.Or as I would quote,”sometimes,he will be your strength in your weakness and you will be the strength in his weakness.”

As I would stare at their pictures together,I often blushed. It reminded me when Jesus Christ,my prince saw me. I’m not a royalty. He is. He had all the riches and kingdom in heaven. In spite of who I am,so ordinary, still He was deeply in love with me.I also fell in love with Him. Who couldn’t be,anyway?A Prince who’s power will never end and His peace will last forever!(Isaiah 9:7)
Love grows even more when you share every part of you. Kate and William’s relationship blossomed when they spent more time with each other, shared good giggles and same interests.Same thing,I loved Jesus even more when I find time to talk to Him,share my what’s in my day, laugh with Him and when I involve myself in His passion.
The two got engaged after Prince William slipped through her finger his mother’s diamond and sapphire ring. I got engaged with my Prince when He gave His very own life. On the cross, He professed His love!
I said “YES” on the proposal as Kate did.The wedding gown that she’ll be wearing this morning is still a mystery and whatever it is,it will go down in history both in fashion and in Britain as a whole.
My prince and groom is now preparing for the biggest royal wedding heaven could ever have. And what will I wear?I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.(Job 29:14)
If it isn’t clear, I’ll show you when I walk down the aisle stepping on a red-blood carpet of Jesus as He reaches for my hands and says lovingly to the Father..”I do.”
All who dreamed of becoming a princess, simply acknowledge Christ as Kate abandoned her shyness to William, accept His love and the position of royalty in His kingdom.
